I am excited to announce that Games Workshop have confirmed the Melbourne Kill Team Open is a World Championship of Warhammer qualifying event!

Welcome to the premier Kill Team event in Victoria, the fourth annual Kill Team Open tournament, proudly hosted in 2026 at Plenty of Games.

Using a "there can only be one" swiss-pairing Grand Tournament structure which will see the solo undefeated winner crowned the 2026 Kill Team POG Champion, and potentially earn a qualification for the 2026 Kill Team World Championship of Warhammer (date and venue TBC).

As an WCW Qualifier event, this will be using the latest Approved Operations missions. We recommend the use of the official Kill Team app, and so the rules set will be whatever rules (and supplementary material) are live in the Kill Team app and the Warhammer Community website the morning of the first round of play.

Cost: $80

Prize pool:

• One WCW Kill Team qualification slot with passdowns and no travel support

• As is tradition with Kill Team Open events, we try to maximise the prize pool through sponsorships, so feel free to point any potential sponsors our way.

• As the friendliest GT, we direct at least 75% of the prize pool outside of the podium placement of first, second, and third place, so it is a great introduction to someone's first Kill Team event.

This will also be an ITC Hobby Track event, using my modified ITC Hobby Track scoring rubric.
